In modern laboratories, so-called high-throughput techniques such as microarray platforms or next-generation sequencing record the status of thousands of genes at once. Datasets thus acquired are too large for visual inspection. Their interpretation often becomes a bottleneck. The Bioinformatics junior group focuses on storage, processing, and interpretation of high-throughput data. To this end, we apply methodology from computer science and statistics, as well as considerable computing power.
