Renewed certification for berufundfamilie audit
The FZB will continue to focus on family- and life-stage-conscious personnel policies in the future.
The FZB has received confirmation of its “audit berufundfamilie” certification from the board of trustees of berufundfamilie Service GmbH. This is the third time that the FZB has been awarded the certificate with distinction in special recognition of its long-standing, sustainable family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy. The certificate is regarded as a seal of quality for a strategically designed work-life balance policy.
The Research Center Borstel was first awarded the certificate in 2010 and can therefore look back on many years of experience in this area. After six re-audits, the FZB has now undergone the dialogue process for the third time, which serves to secure and further develop family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policies. For quality assurance purposes, another dialogue process will follow in three years.
“In the previous phase, the focus was particularly on the further development of occupational health management (OHM),” says Nina Grohmann, equal opportunities officer at the FZB. "This included follow-up work on an employee survey on mental health and workshops on resilience and stress management. In addition, the topic of caring for relatives became more prominent, as the need for counseling among employees in this area has increased noticeably."
The FZB is setting additional priorities in its new action program. In addition to strengthening existing measures, it aims to raise the profile of diversity issues, evaluate existing offerings, and adapt them as necessary. A key concern is to focus on the compatibility of different phases of life and move away from the traditional understanding of work-life balance.
“By renewing our certification, we are underscoring our commitment to sustainably anchoring issues such as compatibility, health, and diversity as integral parts of our organizational culture,” emphasizes Prof. Ulrich E. Schaible, Director of the Research Center.
